Each Beat Teach consists of a group of Officers representing each patrol squads. Each Beat Team is supervised by a Patrol Sergeant. Officers are assigned to a fixed beat area in one year intervals.

By having Officers committed to a single beat for one year, it allows the Officer to become better acquainted with the citizens they serve. The Officer becomes aware of the activity within their beat, and is able to complete timely and thorough follow-ups to investigations. Be detecting potential problems early, the Patrol Officer is able to act as a deterrent to criminal activity and develop programs to allow for better quality of living for all citizens within their Bear Team assignment.
